Competition: Sustainability Open Innovation Challenge

Enterprise Singapore (ESG) in collaboration with key industry partners has launched the third edition of the Sustainability Open Innovation Challenge 2021 for startups and SMEs across the world with innovative solutions in key areas such as Sustainable Food Sources, Waste Management and many more. The challenge aims to provide winning innovators with pilot opportunities, test-bedding sites, funding support to develop their solutions.

Competition: African Youth Adaptation Solutions

The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) and the African Development Bank is accepting applications for the African Youth Adaptation Solutions (YouthADAPT) challenge from young entrepreneurs implementing climate resilience solutions. The program aims to award business grants of up to $100,000 and the opportunity to participate in a 12-month business accelerator program.

LEAP4FNSSA is looking for a maximum of 25 young innovators, start-ups and entrepreneurs using evidence-based research results and applying digital solutions to the agriculture and food sector. Area of innovations include:

Innovation and digitalization in agriculture – Innovative ideas targeted at helping small farmers make informed decisions to improve agricultural production and the overall sustainability of food systems, “from farm to fork”.

Short value chains – Innovations supporting circular agricultural practices and strengthening the relationship between agricultural production and local food consumption.

Agroecological transitions of food systems – New ideas that link the health of agroecosystems, animals, and humans, to food production and consumption.
